FAQs

Estimator FAQs

01What does this calculator include?+

It returns a range for mitigation only: emergency extraction, structural drying, dehumidification, and basic antimicrobial treatment where applicable. Reconstruction (drywall replacement, painting, flooring install) is not included.

02Why is the result a range instead of a single number?+

Real water damage pricing varies with the type of materials, accessibility, drying difficulty, contamination class, and carrier-approved scope. A range is honest. A single quoted number from a calculator would not be.

03Will my insurance pay this amount?+

Insurance pays the scope your carrier approves, which is based on documented moisture readings, photos, and an itemized line-item scope. Approved scope can come in higher or lower than this estimator. The carrier and your policy decide the actual payment.

04What is the difference between Category 1, 2, and 3 water?+

Category 1 is clean water from a sanitary source such as a supply line. Category 2 is moderately contaminated water such as washing machine discharge. Category 3 is grossly contaminated water including sewage, flooding from rivers, or water that sat long enough to grow microbial contamination. Higher categories require more protective equipment and slower, more controlled removal.
